RMTs are encouraged by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) to provide in-person treatment when the anticipated benefits of treatment outweigh the risks to the client and the RMT.

Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) can continue to provide massage therapy in Burlington, Newmarket, Waterloo and Vaughan during the current province-wide shutdown.  RMTs are encouraged by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) to provide in-person treatment when the anticipated benefits of treatment outweigh the risks to the client and the RMT.

Registered Massage Therapy is a regulated health service in Ontario governed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).

In Ontario, the regulation of health professions is based on a self-governance model. There are 26 health regulatory colleges governing 29 health professions under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) and their respective health profession Acts. Health regulatory colleges operate at arm’s length from the provincial government and independently administer their own internal processes.
