Introducing a revolutionary
approach in chiropractic care

Unlike traditional adjustment-based chiropractic services, Sanctuary Chiropractic advocates a more integrated model of care that considers biomechanics and the nervous system in addressing pain and discomfort.

We use the most advanced contemporary therapies, including electro-acupuncture and various soft tissue techniques, in a results-oriented approached designed to restore pain-free movement quickly.

Sanctuary’s elite group of chiropractors using these progressive treatment modalities in their practice. Both have qualified with the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program and are certified Active Release Therapists specializing in sports-related injuries.

Neurofunctional Electro-acupuncture

Neurofunctional electro-acupuncture (NE), which combines ancient Chinese acupuncture therapy with contemporary medical knowledge of physiology and the treatment of pain, is central to the groundbreaking treatment approach practiced at Sanctuary Chiropractic. In traditional acupuncture, hair-thin needles are inserted at specific points on the body to manipulate the body’s natural healing mechanism, known as Chi. In Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, acupuncture needles are attached to a device that sends small electrical currents or pulses into the body.

These electrical pulses stimulate the body’s natural regulatory mechanisms, producing changes in the activity of the nervous system and the endocrine system – a similar effect to that of exercise.

NE has been clinically shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic pain, respiratory and digestive problems, women’s health issues and a number of other conditions.

Your Sanctuary chiropractor may use NE as a solitary treatment or in combination with soft tissue and joint manipulation.
